The addition of (+) or (-) to a grade indicates a degree slightly above or below the grade.

Minimum Bid

The starting bid for an album.

M

Mint.

Perfect Condition.

M-

Mint Minus.

The record is opened but looks unplayed, the cover is almost perfect.

M--

Mint Minus Minus.

The record is slightly below Mint Minus grade.

VG++

Very Good Plus Plus.

This is just one step below Near Mint condition, the grade is often used if there are one or two tiny marks of some sort that slightly degrades the record and/or cover from being Near Mint.

VG+

Very Good Plus

Sometimes referred to as Excellent. A record that has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Slight Indications of use.

VG

Very Good

Used but not abused. A VG record will display visible signs of handling, however the audio still remains great.
